The study of music at Williams is essentially a three-fold program, including studies in the liberal arts and sciences, training in basic musicianship, and specialized training. The liberal arts requirements include the humanities, the social and natural sciences, religion, and physical education.
The core of the music program is musicianship, which also includes applied music study (solo and ensemble experience), music literature and history, music education, conducting, and extensive study of music theory.
