Williams Baptist University welcomes applications from persons seeking a Christian education with high academic standards.

Requirements for Admission

The admission decision is based on academic records and scores on standardized tests (ACT or SAT). The University seeks to determine, on the basis of the candidate’s academic record, character, purpose, and aptitude, whether he or she is compatible with the purposes of the institution and demonstrates potential to benefit from one of its programs. However, Williams reserves the right to restrict or deny admission to any applicant who is considered not to be an appropriate admissions candidate as determined by its officers. These admissions decisions will be made in a manner consistent with state and federal non-discrimination laws.

Like all colleges and universities, WBU has specific admission criteria, but you’re much more than a high school transcript.

Southerland-Mabee Center

The Southerland-Mabee Center opened in 1980 and is the home of the Eagles basketball, wrestling, and volleyball teams. It has hosted regular season and postseason events in all three sports. The SMC has also served campus events including Miss WBU pageants, graduation, and more. The WBU training room, several classrooms, offices, and locker rooms are located within the facility. The building also features a racquetball room and running track. The floor received a new surface in August of 2018, updating the floor with the Eagle logo, as well as the AMC and NAIA logos.

The bleachers can hold up to 434 people. However, additional seating is available on the court level, and around the upstairs track.

Manley Chapel

The chapel was designed to be an icon building on the WBU campus, in 2018. Standing over 50 feet tall and sporting a stacked stone exterior with a skylight that runs the length of the chapel, it is truly breathtaking.

The facility has over 8,000 square feet of floor space and comfortably seats 550.

Carter Fieldhouse

The Carter Field House is the original home of the WBU basketball teams. The facility has turned into a multipurpose facility for the WBU athletic programs.

It can hold practices for baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, and more. It also holds intramural competition and other campus activities.

Swaim Administration Building

The two-story red brick, colonnaded administration building with its rotunda is a Postmodern version of the rotunda at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Startup Chapel

The historic, World War II era chapel at Williams is named after longtime professor and administrator, Dr. Kenneth Startup.

The chapel dates back to the Walnut Ridge Army Flying School, which became the site of the Williams campus after World War II. In recent years, the structure had been dubbed the Old Chapel.

WBU Athletic Annex

The Athletic Annex is home to the WBU wrestling practice facility. It also houses the Eagles athletic weight room. The building opened to the wrestling program in 2014.

However, it went through major renovations in the summer of 2016 to become the main athletic weight room on campus.
