If you are serious about growing as a wrestler and as a man of faith, you need a coach who knows what it takes on the mat, in the classroom, and in life. That is exactly who Coach Tracy Hubbard is.
Before stepping into the head coaching role at Williams Baptist University, Coach Hubbard spent six seasons competing at Central Michigan University at 165 lbs, finishing with 68 collegiate wins and helping his team capture the 2024 MAC Championship. He placed in the MAC Championships twice and served on the Mid-American Conference Council of Student-Athletes, where he was honored with the Bill Boyden Leadership Award for his impact on the program and his teammates. He knows the pressure of big matches, the grind of the season, and what it takes to compete at a championship level.
Coach Hubbard is not just focused on takedowns and titles—he is committed to developing men of integrity. Before arriving at WBU, he served as an NCAA Mentor at Michigan International Prep School, guiding student-athletes in both academic and personal growth. He also worked with Athletes in Action and coached at Shepherd High School, investing in young athletes through mentorship, leadership, and faith-centered development. Williams’ Athletic Director, Mitch Mathis, describes him as a leader who connects elite performance with intentional Christian discipleship and is committed to building Christian young men off the mat, not just winning matches.
At WBU, Coach Hubbard’s vision is clear: build a wrestling program that honors God and shapes young men in faith, character, discipline, and excellence—on and off the mat. His background in Sport Management and an MBA from Central Michigan University gives him a deep understanding of both the competitive and strategic sides of college athletics, which he uses to help student-athletes navigate their academic and athletic journey. Under his leadership, wrestling at Williams is more than a sport; it is a pathway to becoming the kind of man God is calling you to be.
When you step into the Williams wrestling room, Coach Hubbard’s goal is to walk with you, not just coach over you. He will help you:
Grow as a competitor through disciplined training and high-level wrestling experience
Stay accountable in the classroom and pursue your degree with purpose
Deepen your faith and character through intentional Christian mentorship and community
If you are ready to be challenged, developed, and led by a coach who has wrestled at a high level and cares deeply about who you are becoming, Coach Tracy Hubbard is ready to guide you at Williams Baptist University.
