Charles & Jackie Snapp got to meet last week with the recipients of two Williams Baptist University scholarships they have established.  The Walnut Ridge mayor and his wife met Angel Blair and Christopher Dunlap on the Williams campus Friday.
Blair receives the Jackie Carmen Snapp Scholarship.  She is a sophomore from Walnut Ridge, majoring in mid-level math & science education.  She is the daughter of Billy and Michelle Blair.
Dunlap receives the Charles & Jackie Snapp Scholarship.  He is a sophomore finance major from Walnut Ridge, and he is the son of Stacey Dunlap.

The Snapps established the scholarships this year to benefit Williams students from the Walnut Ridge area.
“We both attended Williams and Jackie earned a bachelor’s degree in business there, so we know firsthand that it provides an outstanding education.  We are proud of our hometown university, and we are very pleased to help others from around Walnut Ridge receive a Williams education,” Mayor Snapp noted.

Interim President Dr. Kenneth Startup said, “We deeply appreciate the support we receive on so many levels from Mayor & Mrs. Snapp, and it was gratifying to see them meet with the students who benefit directly from their generosity.  Scholarships like the ones they have established make a lasting and very positive difference in the lives of these young people.”

Williams is a liberal arts university in Walnut Ridge.  It will formally become Williams Baptist University in July.
