Walnut Ridge Wal-Mart Gives to WBU Police

Kari Shanks, manager of the Walnut Ridge Wal-Mart, hands a $500 donation to Jim Hartness (center) and Brett Cooper.

The campus police department at Williams Baptist University recently got a boost from Wal-Mart of Walnut Ridge.  Kari Shanks, manager of the local store, presented a $500 check to Jim Hartness, WBU chief of police and director of campus security, and Brett Cooper, vice president for institutional advancement.

“It is great to have community partners like Wal-Mart who support our efforts at WBU in a variety of ways.  This gift will help keep our campus safe and secure, and we sincerely appreciate their generosity,” said Cooper.

Hartness said the gift will go toward equipment for WBU security efforts.

Williams is a private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge.
