Williams Baptist University recently honored Barbara Turner for her 21 years of service to the school. A reception was held for Turner (pictured at center above), longtime director of financial aid at WBU, and she was presented with an award of recognition.
Turner, a WBU graduate, stepped down from her role at Williams at the end of October. Her family is moving to Bolivar, Mo., where her husband, Dr. Eric Turner, is now serving as president of Southwest Baptist University.
“Barbara Turner has worked diligently as WBU’s director of financial aid, and she has helped countless students find the resources they needed to receive a high quality, Christian university education. We appreciate her greatly and wish the Turners the very best in this next chapter of their lives,” said Angela Flippo, vice president for enrollment management at Williams.
A large crowd of staff, faculty and friends gathered in the atrium of Swaim Administration Building to pay tribute to Turner. She was presented an award of appreciation by Flippo and Dr. Stan Norman, president of WBU.
Williams is a private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge.
