Cook Signs with WBU Band & Singers

Isaiah Cook is headed to Williams Baptist University to continue his pursuits in instrumental and vocal music.  Cook, a senior at Hoxie High School, signed his commitment Monday, Feb. 18, to be a member of the WBU Band and the Williams Singers.

Cook, the son of Adam & Rebecca Cook, took part in a signing ceremony at Hoxie High School in front of fellow band members, friends and family.  Looking on as he signed were his mother, HHS Band Directors Clinton Curtis and Joseph Curtis, WBU Band Director Brady Massey, and Williams Singers Director Dr. Bob Magee.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of both of these programs at WBU, and I am honored,” Cook said.  He will be a trumpet player in the band and a baritone-bass singer in the choir.

Cook plans to make a career of his musical passions by majoring in music education at WBU.  The Department of Music at Williams offers bachelor’s degree majors in music, P-12 music education and church music.

Williams is a private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge.
