WBU Honors 13 Employees for 280 Years of Combined Service

Williams Baptist University honored 13 employees who have contributed a combined 280 years of service to the school and its Christ-centered education. 

Melinda Williams was honored for 40 years of service to the university as an assistant professor of speech, drama and journalism, coordinator of the Liberal Arts degree program and she also oversees “The Cast ” drama program and coordinates WBU’s on-campus drama productions. 

Lisa Foley was recognized for 35 years of service at Williams, all of which has come in the financial aid and admissions offices. Dr. Brett Cooper and Angela Flippo were both honored for 30 years. Dr. Cooper has served as the school’s Director of Public Relations and now is the Vice President for Creative Services for Technology and also was appointed as the Dean of Williams of Works. Flippo has served in a number of roles at WBU including the Director of Admissions and most recently as the store manager of Williams Corner.

Tonya Bolton and Dr. Chris Thompson was recognized for 25 years of service. Bolton served as the school’s registrar before moving into her current role as Director of Advising and Athletic Retention, while Dr. Thompson is an associate professor of music. 

Misty Colvey and Eliseu Dos Santos have each worked at Williams for 15 years, with Colvey serving as one of the school’s athletic trainers and recently earning the honor of AMC Athletic Trainer of the Year. Dos Santos has been a member of the school’s maintenance crew for much of his tenure. 

Traci Reed, who serves on the housekeeping staff, has devoted 10 years of service to the school whole Belina Dulaney, Morgan Cole and Martha Jones have all worked at Williams for five years. Dulaney is an assistant professor in Natural Sciences, while Cole is the school’s Director of Human of Resources. Jones is a member of the University’s housekeeping staff.

Dr. Stan Norman was also honored for his five years of dedicated leadership and service to Williams. 

The employees were honored at the WBU employee service luncheon on Dec. 15.

WBU is a private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge.
