High-achieving students were recognized during the 25th annual Department of Business Awards ceremony at Williams Baptist University, held in WBU’s Moody Room on April 3.
Nick Powell of Lynn, Ark., and Logan Tharp of Pocahontas, Ark., were recognized as the department’s academic award winners based on their work in the classroom. They will be formally recognized during the academic awards banquet held later this month and have their name engraved upon a plaque in the Sloan Center honoring the other past winners.
Each year the Department of Business selects a number of students to attend its honors luncheon and receive departmental awards as voted on by the professors within the degree program.
Those receiving departmental awards and their respective degree programs are:
- Future Entrepreneur – Nathan Belk (finance) of Jonesboro, Ark.
- Most Dependable – Tate Isaacs (business administration) of Ash Flat, Ark.
- Best Business Minor – Rebecca Simington (biology) of Imboden, Ark.
- Best Marketing Student – Madison Woods (marketing) of Marion, Ark.
- Best Transfer Student – Charmen Taylor (business administration) of Arlington, Tenn.
- Most Participation – Omar Franco (finance) of Van Buren, Ark.
- Best Potential Underclassman – Mary Kate Cole (business administration) of Manila, Ark.
- Best International Student – Alfonso Madrigal (marketing) of Madrid, Spain
- Best Female Business Student – Calista Christian (biology) of Conway, Ark.
- Academic Resilience Award – Andrew Pace (business administration) of Mount Carmel, Tenn.
