Director’s Stand Donated to WBU

A spectator enjoyed a recent musical performance at Williams Baptist University, and felt that the director needed a better platform to hold his music. So, the spectator made an anonymous donation to purchase a professional quality stand for such performances.

The Melhart Modern Curved Conductor Stand features a large desk that is 30 inches by 24 inches, capable of displaying multiple pages of music for the director. The desk is made of clear polycarbonate, giving the stand a sleek look, and a lower shelf is capable of holding more music.

The stand is now used by the WBU Band, Jazz Band and Williams Singers. WBU Director of Bands Rod Plunkett and Choral Director Dr. Trent Broussard both expressed their appreciation for the donated stand, noting that it is both stylish and practical.

Williams is a private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge.
