Williams Baptist University has recognized employees who achieved milestones of service this year. Service awards were presented December 12 to employees who have worked at WBU for multiples of five years.
Carol Halford was recognized for completing 40 years of service to Williams. Halford is chair of the Department of Health and Physical Education, and she was previously the longtime women’s basketball coach and athletic director.
Dr. Robert Foster and Dr. Ann Paterson were recognized for 25 years of work at the university. Foster is chair of the Department of Christian Ministries, while Paterson is the Nell Mondy Chair of Natural Science.
Receiving 20-year service pins were Blake McGinnis, Dr. Stephen McMann, Dr. Ruth Provost and Susie Smith. McGinnis is director of information technology, McMann is associate professor of natural science, Provost is chair of the Department of Psychology, and Smith is administrative assistant in the Maintenance Office.
Recognized for 15 years of service were Larry Bailey, Deana Conley and Dr. Charlotte Wheeless. Bailey is WBU’s network administrator, Conley is administrative assistant in the Office of Student Affairs, and Wheeless is the LaDell Moody Chair of Education.
Those who have completed five years at WBU include assistant professor of English Dr. Trevor Babcock, farm manager Brad Flippo, housekeeper Latrisha Glasgow, assistant athletic trainer Cody Jones, head softball coach Jessica Nutt, director of business services Amanda Prestidge and assistant women’s basketball coach Kala Tyus.
The awards were presented at the university’s employee Christmas luncheon.
