Assistant Varsity & Head JV Volleyball Coach

Williams Baptist University seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Varsity & Head Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach. This is a full-time, 10-month position reporting to the Head Volleyball Coach and the Director of Athletics.   Additional duties may be assigned by the athletic director.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is required. 

The applicant should be an active follower of Jesus Christ and committed to the University’s spiritual and academic mission. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with all aspects of the varsity volleyball program, including practice planning, scouting, player development, recruiting, and game preparation.
  • Serve as the Head Coach for the Junior Varsity (JV) team, responsible for scheduling, training, and supervising all JV contests and practices.
  • Recruit and retain student-athletes in alignment with the mission and values of Williams Baptist University.
  • Mentor student-athletes academically, spiritually, and athletically in support of the holistic educational mission of the university.
  • Adhere to all NAIA, American Midwest Conference, and WBU policies and procedures.
  • Help with additional duties assigned by the Head Coach and the Director of Athletics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Previous volleyball coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and mentor student-athletes.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to the Christian mission of Williams Baptist University.
