First National Bank of Commerce Makes Gift to WBU

First National Bank of Commerce has made a $7,500 donation to Williams Baptist University, aimed at enhancing the Williams Works program. The gift was presented to WBU President Dr. Stan Norman by Loan Officer Marcie Varner.

“First National Bank of Commerce is an incredibly loyal friend to Williams Baptist University,” said Norman. “This bank is a longtime, generous supporter of our university. Their support makes a significant, positive impact on the Williams Works initiative, and that in turn is making it possible for students to work their way to an academically outstanding, Christ-center education.”

Students in the Williams Works program work 16 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. In return, their tuition and student service fees are fully covered for each semester they participate. Moreover, students have the opportunity to work full-time during the summer, with their room and board expenses also covered, providing students a pathway to graduate debt-free.

Williams is a private, Christian university located in Walnut Ridge.
