WBU’s Paterson Elected President of International Society

Dr. Ann Paterson of Williams Baptist University has been selected to lead the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles (SSAR). Paterson, who is WBU’s Nell Mondy Chair of Natural Sciences, was recently elected president of the international society. 

Paterson’s election follows years of service and contributions to SSAR.  The WBU professor has served on a variety of committees with the society, and has been an officer since 2013.

SSAR, established to advance research, conservation and education concerning amphibians and reptiles, was founded in 1958. It is the largest international herpetological society, and it is recognized worldwide for having the most diverse program of publications, meetings and other activities.

Biology/pre-medicine is one of the most popular programs of study at WBU. Williams is a private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
