Join us in congratulating Dr. Ruth Provost, winner of this year’s Students’ Choice Award! This is an annual faculty award that is decided solely by the student population. Students vote based on which faculty member they believe has taught them best, encouraged them, showed them a good example of a Christian professional, helped them, and who they believe is an overall outstanding faculty member.
Dr. Provost is a WBU alum and chair of the Department of Psychology.
“She encourages critical thinking while also demonstrating patience and compassion,” said one student. “Her commitment to excellence is paired with a strong Christian character, which she models in the way she teaches, mentors, and interacts with others. She truly exemplifies what it means to be a Christian professional and has been a constant source of encouragement and guidance throughout my time at Williams.”
“I have had several classes with Dr Provost,” said another. “Her ability to structure each class, provide needed information in a very timely manner plus her knowledge and enthusiasm have encouraged me to dig deeper not only in her classes, but also in my other classes.”
“Dr. Provost is a great professor, and you can tell she really enjoys what she’s teaching,” added yet another. “Sometimes, psychology classes can be draining because the topics are so heavy. However, Dr. Provost’s joy is contagious which motivates her students to want to learn!”
There were lots more comments like these, and we couldn’t agree more! Well done, Dr. Provost!
